The
Second Most Magical Place on Earth!

Tuachan
Center for the Arts is a place where you can expect the unforgettable. Surrounded by the beautiful red rocks of Snow
Canyon, this Amphitheatre can take your breath away with their professional
Broadway Season and their concert series.
Here you can fly away to Neverland, soar through the jungle, and walk
the streets of Paris. Interning at this
magical place felt like a dream. It is
such unique place to work; each day is a new experience. Working for the marketing department you get
to see how it is all done, from the photo shoots to backstage with an
artist. I was able to intern starting in
late September and finishing in late November.
It was a crazy eight weeks full of learning and growing as an intern, an
event manager, and a person.
While
interning at Tuacahn I worked with a variety of people. In October the Broadway season was ending but
I was still able to connect with actors from all over the nation. Being able to work with them and talk with
them helped me see the world through their eyes and gain new perspectives on
life outside of Utah. In November I
worked with three different artists and their crew: David Archuleta, CSN Songs,
and Culture Club. Each concert was a new
experience because all of the artists have different styles. There were challenges with the concerts that
I was able to overcome from help from my team and past experiences with
SUUSA. Overall it was an experience that
I will never forget and from it I was offered a job and will continue working
at Tuacahn starting in March.
All
of this wouldn’t have been possible without the help of my SUUSA advisors and
the EDGE program at SUU that helps students gain experience outside of the
classroom. EDGE is something every
student must complete and the projects can be almost anything the student wants
to do. EDGE forced me to get out of my
comfort zone and try new things. From
doing this project I have become more confident in my skills and experienced somethings
that not a lot of people get to do. I am
very grateful for this opportunity and for a school that wants to further my
education in and out of the classroom.
