Checklist:
ü Organize school schedule to fit internship
schedule
ü Fill out documentation for Tuacahn
ü Budget gas money
ü Work with event planner to help with closing night
parties
ü Take pictures at events
ü Receive training on hospitality for concerts
ü Be there for concerts
ü Write a plan for a marketing campaign
ü Speak up in meetings
ü Fill out journal everyday
ü Organize photos based of event and day of event
Documentation Plan:
I will be keeping a
journal of my daily activities at Tuacahn and I will be taking photos at each
event. Once I have completed I will turn
my journal into an online journal that people can read and use the photos so it
reads like a story and not a journal. I
will also have my supervisor write a performance review at the end of my
internship.
Obstacles:
·
Being able to
balance school and an internship
§ To balance I will organize my school stuff and
create a school schedule and an internship schedule that are cohesive. I will be keeping a daily planner to make
sure everything gets done.
·
Weather in the
Winter
§ The weather is unavoidable. I will be keeping myself safe and not drive
down to St. George when the weather is bad in Cedar City. I will still be able to get work done by
communicating through email and using those days to strengthen Tuacahn’s social
media.
·
Not knowing
what to do
§ I will ask questions and figure it out whatever it
takes to get the job done.
·
Hard to work
with people
§ I will learn from others on how they handle people
who are hard to work with so when the time comes I will have the skills to handle
them in a professional manner.
Pre-Project Reflection:
I
am very excited for this internship because it will push me way out of my
comfort zone. I first went to Tuacahn
last summer to see a show and I fell in love with the facility and the professionalism
of the organization. I am looking
forward to working with professional actors and seeing their perspective on
life and how they move from one city to the next. This internship is going to open up a whole
new world for me. Between Broadway shows
to three different concerts that attract very different audience I am excited
to learn how different marketing strategies are used to reach those
audiences. I hope to be able to use my
skills and help reach those audiences from the experiences from being in SUUSA
and DECA. I am excited to learn how to
use marketing in my personal life and how it can help me reach my career
goals. This internship is going to set
me apart from other people in my major because I am a science person working
for an arts center but I think it is important to branch out so you are well
rounded and gain a better appreciation for the world around you.
Some
concerns that I am afraid of with this internship is that it is out of my
comfort zone and I am afraid of not being able to connect with the people who
work at Tuacahn. I am worried that my
skill set is not enough to complete what they ask me to do. To help with the skills I will make sure to
ask questions when I have them to make sure I understand the project so I can
do the best to my ability to complete it.
I have never been good at making friends so I will be myself and
maintain a professional work ethic and make sure I reach out to people and talk
to them to make a relationship with those I am working with. I am concerned of working around actors
because I have never worked with them before but if I maintain my
professionalism everything should work out.
I am very much looking forward to starting there and hopefully by the
end I will have gained new skills, new experiences, and possibly a job at
Tuacahn Center for the Arts.
